The English Springer Spaniel is blessed with style, enthusiasm, and an eagerness to please. Thy are an energetic, medium-sized dog (40-50 lbs., 19-20 inches at the withers) with long, hanging ears and a moderately long dual-layer coat. The top coat can be black-and-white, liver-and-white, blue on liver roan, and tri-color. The undercoat is short, soft and dense. Together they are waterproof. English Springer Spaniels are moderate shedder year-round. Their long ears need to be checked and cleaned weekly to prevent ear infections. These dogs thrive being by your side and don't do well if left alone for long periods of time.
